The ingredients needed to make Grandma's Calico Beans:
  1. Prepare 1/2 lb ground beef
  2. Prepare 1/2 lb diced bacon
  3. Take 1 cup chopped onion
  4. Take 1/2 cup ketchup
  5. Prepare 1 tsp salt
  6. Make ready 3/4 cup brown sugar
  7. Take 1 tsp mustard
  8. Get 2 tsp vinegar
  9. Get 1 can 15 oz white beans (butter beans, great northern or navy beans are good)
  10. Make ready 1 can 15 oz pork n beans
  11. Prepare 1 can 16 oz kidney beans

Mix brown sugar, ketchup, vinegar and mustard together. Add brown sugar mixture to meat. Instructions to make Grandma's Calico Beans:
  1. Combine bacon, ground beef and onion in large pot
  2. Sautee over medium heat until browned
  3. Add all other ingredients to pot. stir until blended. cover
  4. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 - 40 minutes covered.
  5. Serve with cornbread or biscuits
