The ingredients needed to make Easy Shepherds Pie:
  1. Get 2 lb lean hamburger
  2. Take 1 onion chopped
  3. Make ready 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  4. Prepare 1/2 cup low fat milk
  5. Prepare 2 tsp salt
  6. Take 2 tsp ground black pepper
  7. Take 1 tbsp McCormick's Montreal Steak seasoning or a similar steak and chop seasoning
  8. Take 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
  9. Make ready 3/4 packages frozen cubed hashbrown potatoes
  10. Prepare 1 packages frozen mixed veggies(small bag)
  11. Get 1 box Butter and Herb flavor instant potatoes
  12. Prepare 2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

In the States, people use ground beef, which is what we call for here. I was looking for a quick & easy Shepherd's Pie recipe and took a shot at this one. It's surprisingly good for such simple ingredients but won't fool a real home-cook ;) I sauteed a chopped onion with the beef and seasoned with salt & pepper while cooking. Incredibly easy to make, yet so delicious!

Instructions to make Easy Shepherds Pie:
  1. Pre heat oven to 350
  2. brown hamburger with chopped onion, drain any grease
  3. microwave frozen hashbrowns (use frozen veggie setting add a little water)
  4. microwave frozen veggies
  5. microwave instant potatoes (make sure to double butter/milk/ water since both packets are being made)
  6. in a large bowl mix together soup and milk, then add salt, pepper, worcestershire and steak seasoning
  7. add meat, veggies, and cubed hasbrowns to soup mixture. Mix well
  8. In a large GREASED caserole dish (4 liter or larger) pour mixture and spread evenly
  9. pour and spread instant potatoes over meat mixture
  10. spread cheddar cheese ontop
  11. bake uncovered at 350 for 30 min
