Read Customer Reviews & Find Best Sellers. I can include quite a few comfort meals to my repertoire, one of which is Mie (Bami) Goreng, Indonesian fried Selanjutnya Mee goreng, mie goreng or bami goreng, is a dish made with egg noodles, fried in oil with vegetables, meat (most often chicken) and eggs. It is mainly seasoned with samba, a condiment made from hot peppers, sriracha, and kecap manis, a sweet and syrupy soy sauce that caramelizes when cooked. I wanted to go for the Nasi goreng (rice fried, literally- in Indonesian), but since my boyfriend was going to get the Mie tek tek (fried noodles including "tek tek" due to the sound made by hitting the wok), I decided to get a coconut rice dish with one of the "curries" or rather, ulam (dish).

Foods That Can Make Your Mood Better

A lot of us have been taught to think that comfort foods are bad and should be avoided. Often, if your comfort food is made of candy or other junk foods, this can be true. Other times, however, comfort foods can be altogether nourishing and it’s good for you to eat them. There are a number of foods that, when you consume them, could boost your mood. If you are feeling a little bit down and you’re in need of a happiness pick me up, try some of these.

Eggs, would you believe, are fantastic for helping you combat depression. Just make sure that you do not throw out the yolk. The egg yolk is the part of the egg that is the most crucial in terms of helping raise your mood. Eggs, especially the yolks, are full of B vitamins. B vitamins can really help you improve your mood. This is because they help in improving the function of your neural transmitters, the parts of your brain that affect your mood. Try eating an egg and jolly up!

Make some trail mix of nuts or seeds. Almonds, cashews, peanuts, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, etcetera are all good for raising your mood. This is because these foods are rich in magnesium, which helps to increase your production of serotonin. Serotonin is referred to as the “feel good” chemical substance and it tells your brain how you should be feeling all the time. The more serotonin you have, the more pleasant you will feel. Not only that but nuts, specifically, are a great source of protein.

Cold water fish are excellent if you wish to feel happier. Cold water fish such as tuna, trout and wild salmon are chock full of DHA and omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acids and DHA are two things that truly help the grey matter in your brain work a lot better. It’s true: eating a tuna fish sandwich can seriously raise your mood.

It’s easy to drive away your bad mood when you eat grains. Teff, barley, millet, quinoa, etc are all excellent for helping you be in a happier state of mind. These grains can help you feel full for longer too, helping you feel better. It’s not hard to feel a little bit off when you are starving! The reason these grains are so good for your mood is that they are not difficult for your body to digest and process. You digest these grains quicker than other things which can help boost your blood sugar levels, which, in turn, helps make you feel happier, mood wise.

Your mood can really be helped by green tea. You knew it had to be mentioned in this article, right? Green tea has a lot of an amino acid called L-theanine. Research has discovered that this amino acid stimulates the production of brain waves. This helps raise your mental sharpness while calming the rest of your body. You already knew that green tea helps you be healthier. And now you are aware that green tea can help improve your mood as well!

So you see, you don’t need to eat all that junk food when you are wanting to feel better! Try a few of these suggestions instead.
