The ingredients needed to make Paniyaram/Guntaponganalu (Using leftover idly/dosa batter):
  1. Get 2 cups dosa batter idli/
  2. Get 1/4 cup rice flour
  3. Prepare 1 onion
  4. Make ready 2 green chillies
  5. Take 1 tsp cumin seeds
  6. Prepare 1 tbspn coriander leaves chopped
  7. Prepare 1 tbspn curry leaves chopped
  8. Make ready pinch hing
  9. Get as required salt
  10. Prepare as required oil

Take the leftover dosa batter in a wide bowl. Temper mustard, urad dal, chana dal and hing. After dals turn golden, saute the finely chopped onion, green chilli, ginger, curry leaves, coriander leaves and little salt. Using idli batter too we can get crispy out and soft in paniyaram.

Steps to make Paniyaram/Guntaponganalu (Using leftover idly/dosa batter):
  1. In a bowl take idli/dosa batter, add rice flour and mix well.
  2. Add chopped onions, cumin, greenchillies, hing, coriander and curry leaves.
  3. Heat a paniyaram chatti, pour few drops of oil in each mould. Later, add the batter in each mould using a spoon or small ladle.
  4. Close it with a lid and let it cook for few mins.
  5. Remove the lid and turn on to the other side using a wooden stick or spoon.
  6. Cook till crisp and transfer the paniyarams to a casserole or bowl.
  7. Serve with chutney or sambar.

After dals turn golden, saute the finely chopped onion, green chilli, ginger, curry leaves, coriander leaves and little salt. Using idli batter too we can get crispy out and soft in paniyaram. Either you can use non-stick appe pan or iron appe pan. It is important to use sour batter. Paniyaram or paddu is the natural successor of idli in my house.

They are easier to digest than other foods which helps kick up your blood sugar levels and that, in turn, raises your mood.
