The ingredients needed to make My Favorite Chili:
  1. Prepare 1 lb Ground beef or turkey
  2. Get 1 lb Ground pork sausage or Italian sausage
  3. Prepare 1 small Onion, diced
  4. Prepare 2 can Chili beans
  5. Make ready 1 can Black beans
  6. Get 1 can Large butter beans, drained and rinsed
  7. Take 1 can Stewed or diced tomatoes
  8. Prepare 1 can 12 oz. V8 juice
  9. Make ready 1/4 cup Frank's hot sauce
  10. Prepare 1 tbsp Ground cinnamon (yes I know this sounds strange, but it's delicious!) start with less if you're unsure
  11. Take 2 tbsp Ground cumin
  12. Make ready 2 tbsp Ancho chili powder
  13. Get 2 tsp Smoked garlic powder

I vary the hot ingredients depending on who will be eating it and the mood I'm in. I've also used ground venison and it was just as good. It's sweeter than regular chili, but quite fabulous. Serve it with an array of toppings-like sour cream, onions and cheddar.

Instructions to make My Favorite Chili:
  1. Brown meats and onion in a large skillet, drain fat.
  2. Add in all remaining ingredients.
  3. Simmer for 30-60 minutes. Or you may cook all in a crockpot on low for 6-8 hours.

Cold water fish are wonderful for eating if you wish to battle depression. Cold water fish including tuna, trout and wild salmon are chock full of DHA and omega-3 fatty acids. These are two substances that promote the quality and function of the grey matter in your brain. It’s true: consuming a tuna fish sandwich can really help you overcome depression.

Some grains are really wonderful for fighting off bad moods. Barley, quinoa, millet, teff, etc are all excellent for helping you feel better. They help you feel full as well which can truly help to improve your mood. Feeling starved can actually make you feel terrible! The reason these grains are so good for your mood is that they are easy for your body to digest and process. You digest these foods more quickly than other things which can help boost your blood sugar levels, which, in turn, helps make you feel happier, mood wise.

Your mood can truly be helped by green tea. You were just waiting to read that here, weren’t you? Green tea has been found to be packed full of an amino acid called L-theanine. Studies have shown that this amino acid actually stimulates brain waves. This helps better your mental focus while calming the rest of your body. You probably already knew how easy it is to become healthy when you drink green tea. Now you know it can help raise your mood as well!
